Liturgical Music
MaryJo Brue

Music plays a big role in all our daily lives. So why do so few sing at Mass? This class will explore liturgical music - what it is, why we sing, and how singing leads us more fully into community prayer. We'll look at some traditional Catholic hymns as well as some contemporary music, and we'll raise our voices in song to the glory of God. (A good portion of this class will involve you singing.)

This class will not be offered any longer and is not available for the spring session.

Marian Apparitions
Dr. Tom Flaim

Our Lord has sent his most Blessed Mother to us on many occasions. The messages are fairly similar an are always trying to draw us back to Him. We will cover several of the Marian apparitions, paying particular attention to Fatima, Guadalupe, and the recent apparition in Kibeho (Rowanda, Africa). Mary appeared to 3 young children at Fatima, a middle-aged man at Guadalupe, and girls in high school in Ghana. The circumstances were different but the messages are remarkably similar and fascinating. We will review the stories and try to relate Mary's messages to our own lives in today's culture.
